Tai Chi Ruler and QigongFitnessThis online course will include a combination of Tai Chi Ruler and Qigong. Tai Chi Ruler form is an ancient and gentle, yet powerful, exercise of Taoist origin. It is a unique method of cultivating Qi (internal energy) because it uses an external object to aid in its development. The system can be used for self-healing, as well as calming the mind and moving energy throughout the body. In addition, it is a lot of fun and requires very little space! Qigong, also known as Eight Brocades, Silk Brocades, and/or Ba Duan Jin, has been around since the 12th century. The movements are slow, calming, and flowing. Meditative movements help lower blood pressure and stress. Each move focuses on healing the body, mind, and spirit. Recommend flat shoes (no sandals) and comfortable clothes. Suitable for all physical conditions and ages. As this course will be taught virtually, you will need access to video and audio on a computer, tablet or smartphone with internet connection. This class will be held on Zoom, which is free to use. The Zoom link will be emailed to you prior to class. Tai Chi Ruler can be purchased from instructor (pick-up $20, mailed $26) or can be purchased from Amazon or Ebay.
