Students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of pottery through handbuilding and wheel-throwing techniques over the course of several weeks. Students will engage in a variety of processes and projects aimed at getting a better understanding of clay as a material and art form. Students will engage initially in more hands on instruction but will get opportunities along the class to propose their own projects as their understanding of ceramics develops. Students are encouraged to come to class with a notebook or sketchbook and pencil to help document their learning process.Beginner Pottery is required before taking Intermediate Pottery.
