  • Hopkins Youth Wind Orchestra

    The Hopkins Youth Wind Orchestra is a band for students that play woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. We will be challenged through great music, continue to play our instrument through the summer, and have fun with fantastic instructors. Our summer experience will culminate in public performances around the Hopkins community. Band students in grades 8-12 (as of the 17-18 school year) are encouraged to apply. No audition required. Scholarships are available on a limited basis by contacting Community Education.
  • Amazing Art Workshop - STEAMin’ UP SUMMER

    Calling all artists, scientists, engineers, and math lovers! Young Rembrandts have a new workshop filled with new ways your child can explore the fascinating world of STEAM! This four-day workshop will dive into a new discipline every day so that all children learn their possibilities. Students will illustrate different types of Sciences, new Technologies, incredible feats of Engineering and striking Math principles - all while creating crazy awesome Art. Your child’s brain is growing every day!
  • Lego Robotics Wild Animals

    Do you love LEGOS? Do you think building things and working on the computer is fun? Then this is the class for you! You will be able to build LEGO models featuring working motors and sensors; then program the models and watch them follow your commands. Explore and develop your skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics during hands on class. Build an alligator, lion, and bird; then program them to come to life using Lego WeDo software.
  • Prairie Fire Theater Presents: Jack & the Beanstalk

    Join us in this new and exciting theatrical opportunity!  Register now and enjoy a week-long theater experience with performances of "Jack & the Beanstalk" on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon!   All students will attend auditions on Monday, be assigned roles, and receive their Tuesday schedule the same day.  Participant's Schedule:Monday-Thursday, August 20-23: 10am to 2:15pmFriday, August 24: 2:30pm to 7:15pm. Performance at 6pm at Eisenhower Community Center Theater. Saturday, August 25: 1pm-3:30pm. Performance at 2pm at Eisenhower Community Center Theater. Direction, costumes, props and supplies are provided by the renowned Prairie Fire Children's Theater staff.  Students should bring a bag lunch each day. See prairiefirechildrenstheater.org for more information.Note: This class will take place after Camp Royal ends for the summer so there will be no wrap around care provided.
