  • Aquatics Apprenticeship Program

    Hello, we are pleased to offer a paid apprenticeship program designed to develop young swimmers and future lifeguards. The program offers comprehensive swim instruction, instructor training, and a pathway to free lifeguard certification for students who demonstrate commitment and skill development. Our goal is to foster aquatic safety, leadership, and career readiness among youth aged 14 and above. This is an opportunity to get paid while gaining experience and knowledge of the aquatics field. This class is scheduled for Wednesday afternoons, but there will also be morning availability Monday- Thursday on most days. Initial Eligibility: Students aged 14 can enroll in the apprenticeship program. Advancement: Upon turning 15, students become eligible for our Free Lifeguard Certification Course if they meet program requirements. Prerequisites: Completion of all training sessions and demonstration of competence in water safety and instructional skills. Pay- $15 hour 2. Program Structure & Timeline: Phase 1: Swim & Water Safety Lessons Focus: Basic swimming skills and techniques Water safety principles Rescue skills and emergency response Phase 2: Instructor Assistance & Aquatics Management Focus: Assisting certified instructors in delivering water safety lessons Managing the aquatics area under supervision Learning pool operations, safety protocols, and customer service Phase 3:Lifeguard Certification Focus: Complete Lifeguard Certification course, Once certified, students will be able to work as Hopkins staff.

    Join our Fit-Future Aquatic Swim Lessons for advanced swimmers! This class offers children the opportunity to become comfortable in the water while enhancing their foundational skills. Swimmers will refine their strokes, breathing techniques, and learn alongside peers and community members. Each student will take a pre-test, and our curriculum will adhere to Level 4 to Level 6 guidelines to ensure a structured learning experience. There will be a option of 30 min classes and option of 30 minute class and 30 minutes Free Swim for students to play games and get comfortable in the water. Level 4: Stroke Improvement: Students gain confidence and improve their strokes. Level 5: Stroke Refinement: Students refine their strokes and become more efficient swimmers. Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency: Students develop their strokes and endurance, and prepare for more advanced activities.

    Level 2 Intermediate (swimmers able to submerge full body/face) Continuation of water safety and increase swim stroke development. Goals: Understanding water safety rules. Development of back safety stroke and front crawl. Building endurance. Progression of more fundamental skills. Increased comfortability in being underwater.

Swimmers will practice strokes, breathing techniques, and learn alongside peers and community members. Each student will take a pre-test, and our curriculum will adhere to Level 1 to Level 3 guidelines to ensure a structured learning experience. There will be a option of 30 min classes and option of 30 minute class and 30 minutes Free Swim for students to play games and get comfortable in the water. Level 1: Intro to Water Skills: Students learn to feel comfortable in the water and develop basic skills like floating, gliding, and kicking. Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills: Students build on their basic skills and learn to tread water and glide independently. Level 3: Stroke Development: Students practice strokes in deeper water and work towards swimming a certain distance.

Back Floating Motor Skills (Scoops & Kicks) Level 2 Intermediate (swimmers able to submerge full body/face) Continuation of water safety and increase swim stroke development. Goals: Understanding water safety rules. Development of back safety stroke and front crawl. Building endurance. Progression of more fundamental skills. Increased comfortability in being underwater. Level 3 Stroke Development (advance swimmers) Defining and developing correct stroke technique. Goals: Learning correct breathing techniques. Defining swim strokes including freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
