  • ECFE HUG Story Time

    For families with children ages birth - 36 months, new to ECFE, or new to the Hopkins Community. Story Time- Event format: We will start with Stories and Songs led by ECFE licensed Educator, Hilary Novacek Bundt. After we have a chance to enjoy a variety of songs and stories, we will have a parent conversation around joys and challenges of parenting. Virtual Story and Stretch- Event format: We will start with some easy yoga poses (for parents, babies and toddlers!) and stretches you can do from your own home, followed by stories and songs led by ECFE licensed Parenting Educator, Hilary Novacek Bundt. After we have a chance to have a virtual parent conversation around joys and challenges of parenting.

    Do you wish you had a group of adults (parents/caregivers) that you could talk with to discuss the joys and challenges of parenting/caregiving from birth and beyond? Do you want the Parenting Education component of ECFE class but cannot commit to a weekly session? Meet and connect through a variety of different topics facilitated through Google Meet with a licensed Parenting Educator. Current Classes ... Adults Only Preschool Parent Discussion - Designed for any family participating in a Hopkins preschool program (ECSE, Kaleidoscope, or Stepping Stones) All families of preschool aged children are welcome! Join Hopkins ECFE for our Preschool Parent Discussion series, led by a licensed Parent Educator. Connect with other parents, learn from each other, and get new strategies to support your preschooler and your family during this school year. Facilitated by Hilary Novacek Bundt L.P. Parenting Discussion 1-5's or 3-5's - Facilitated by Shannon Rader Ph.D, Licensed Parenting Educator : This weekly discussion with other parents of children 1-5's or 3-5yrs - old will provide you an opportunity to share, get ideas, and connect with other families within the Hopkins Early Childhood school family. Topics will include (but are not limited to) sleep, nutrition, media, child development, toileting, siblings, effective communication, positive discipline and 3 kinds of consequences, co-parenting, and so much more.   • Fall/Winter ECFE 1-2's Class In-Person

    Based on guidance from MDH and our school district, our indoor activities will allow up to 10 families and this will consist of one adult with one child. The outdoor classes will be limited to 10 families, and will also consist of one adult with one child (this doesn't apply to families of multiples). During all in-person activities we ask that you manage your own movements and those of your child to maintain reasonable distance from others. Adults are required to wear a nose and mouth covering mask at all times during indoor classes until further notice. Masks are not required outdoors at this time. ECFE class components are: An in-person class where you spend time in a classroom or outside with your child and a parent discussion for the child’s parent/caregiver during class. Your child will be exposed to literary skills, art, science, Math literacy, social emotional learning, and more! Our non-separating classes provide a parent child experience that helps promote social interactions, STEAM play activities to enhance your infant’s development, music, and connection. During your in-class parent discuss many topics of interest including sleep, nutrition, child development, temperament, adjustments to parenting and safety.     Come join a licensed Children's Teacher for a class with some fun play-based learning. There is so much fun to be had as your child interacts with the world at ever-increasing levels! Listen to the giggles as you and your toddler enjoy creative activities, sing songs, play with toys, explore new art forms, and more! Based on guidance from MDH and our school district, our indoor activities will allow up to 10 families and this will consist of one adult with one child. The outdoor classes will be limited to 10 families, and will also consist of one adult with one child (this doesn't apply to families of multiples). During all in-person activities we ask that you manage your own movements and those of your child to maintain reasonable distance from others. Adults are required to wear a nose and mouth covering mask at all times during class until further notice. ECFE class components include: These are in-person classes where you can spend time in a classroom, outside, and in the gym with your child. The parent discussion component is structured to be a gradually separating experience for both you and your child. Focusing on the many social and emotional 2-3 year might be experiencing. Children's teachers will provide an engaging STEAM focused activity and interactive circle times.   • No Such Thing as Bad Weather

    An all-weather outdoor class focusing on playing and learning together as a family. This class will encourage children to explore and take risks regardless of the weather. We will focus on the parent role in supporting children’s creative play. Each class will have weather-themed outdoor activities, followed by a circle time and parent discussion on raising happy, healthy and resilient children. Class is rain or shine! Bring an umbrella, or a snowsuit… maybe some sunglasses! Every other Saturday, at Harley Hopkins Playgrounds 3, 4, 5 Ages 1-6, siblings welcome with registration
