Chair YogaFitnessChair yoga is a gentle practice that includes seated poses on the chair and standing poses using the chair for balance and support. Yoga can help manage arthritis and osteoporosis while strengthening your immune system. This class is ideal for those with limited mobility and strength, or who are healing from injuries. Participants will need access to Zoom and a straight back chair. This class will meet online via Zoom. Online meeting information will be sent via email by the instructor before the first class. Child and Babysitting SafetyTeens, Sports and Other ProgramsParticipants will learn the responsibilities of being a prepared, safe, responsible and professional babysitter. Topics include supervision, behavior guidance, proper feeding and diapering techniques, personal safety, basic first aid, medical emergencies, and kitchen safety. Dolls, bottles, and diaper supplies will be provided at class for fun hands-on participation. This class is developed by the American Safety and Health Institute and approved by the American Pediatrics Association. Class participants receive a manual and certification card.Youth Summer 2022

Composition in the Landscape: Watercolor Landscapes in Plein Air and in StudioArtThe Composition in the Landscape Course is a five day course aimed for those who are interested in painting the different environments around us. We will look at how to consider the landscape and ways to suggest depth, light and shadow, texture and color while painting on location as well as in the studio. The course will also look at the urban landscape and provide tools to depicting architecture in tandem with nature to create images that reflect the spaces in which we live. All levels are welcome, as the Instructor will review some basic techniques. About the Instructor: The Instructor, Jun-Pierre Shiozawa, currently lives in Nice, France and is excited for the opportunity to teach watercolor workshops at Hopkins Center for the Arts during his summer travels to the Twin Cities. ECFE 3-5's Class In-Person 2022/20233-5 Year Olds & ParentsPopularNEW - 2 Day -- ECFE Class ! This class focuses on preparing both parent and child for preschool! Tuesday/Thursday 9-11:30am Parents: Tuesday: Parent Discussion & Thursday: Parent drop-off with asynchronous, virtual learning Parents will participate in an extended parent discussion on Tuesdays, and drop-off their children on Thursdays. Parents will connect with a parent-educator and other parents in our asynchronous virtual classroom throughout the week and learn ways to support their preschoolers emotional and educational development. Children: Tuesday - parent/child interaction, child/teacher time & Thursday - Parent drop-off and full 2.5hrs child/teacher time! Children age 3 by Sept. 1st will attend 2-days of ECFE class and experience the schedules, routines and activities of preschool. Students will learn how to separate successfully, increase their independence and create social connection with their peers. Due to class structure and limited spots available, your child must be 3 by September 1st. Sibling Care is offered on a first come first served basis and only on Tuesday for this class. ECFE Somali Class In-Person 2022/2023Stay & Play ClassesCome join a licensed Children's Teacher for a 45 min class with some fun play-based learning either outdoors or indoors. There is so much fun to be had as your child interacts with the world at ever-increasing levels! Listen to the giggles as you and your toddler enjoy creative activities, sing songs, play with toys, explore new art forms, and more! Based on guidance from MDH and our school district, our indoor activities will allow up to 10 families and this will consist of one adult with one child. The outdoor classes will be limited to 10 families, and will also consist of one adult with one child. During all in-person activities we ask that you manage your own movements and those of your child to maintain reasonable distance from others. Adults are required to wear a nose and mouth covering mask at all times during class until further notice. ECFE class components are: An in-person class where you spend time in a classroom or outside with your child and a parent discussion for the child’s parent/caregiver during class.
