Learn to Drive with Confidence at Safeway Driving School! Now Offered at Hopkins High School!

Safeway Driving School provides a comprehensive, in-person driver education program for students ages 14.5 to 18. Our experienced instructors, flexible scheduling, and proven success make it easy for families to get started.

Program Includes:
✔ 30 hours of classroom instruction covering state-approved curriculum to prepare for the permit exam
✔ 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training with patient, professional instructors
✔ Flexible class times and driving sessions to fit your busy schedule
✔ State certification provided upon successful completion

Pricing & Payment Plan:

• $435 total
• Or, choose our convenient payment option:
  • $249 due at registration for the classroom portion
  • $160 paid directly to Safeway during behind-the-wheel training (can be split between the first and second lessons)

Important Timelines & Tips:

• Students have one year from the end of classroom instruction or their 15th birthday, whichever is later, to complete all behind-the-wheel lessons
• We recommend 30 days between lessons, with the final lesson about 30 days before your road test
• Regular driving practice with a supervising adult is essential for success

Parent Involvement:
Parents play a critical role in preparing students for safe driving. Minnesota requires 50 hours of practice (including 15 at night) with a supervising adult. Safeway offers a $10 online Parent Class that qualifies for a reduction in required practice hours. Important parent information will be sent home on the first day of class.
