Hopkins Step Team

Hop-Kids: Preschool-Age / Music & Dance -
Youth Winter/Spring 2025

Stepping has been an integral part of my life since 2008. This dynamic form of dance, rooted in African American culture, utilizes the entire body as an instrument to create intricate rhythms and sounds through a blend of footsteps, spoken word, and hand claps. While it can be performed solo, stepping is typically done in groups of three or more, often arranged in formations reminiscent of military drills. It's commonly seen in colleges with sororities and fraternities, drawing inspiration from tap dance, marching, and gymnastics. Our class is beginner-friendly, and we've been running it at North Middle School for the past two years. We're thrilled to now open it up to high school students!

Includes a jersey!!
