Information regarding before and after school programs for middle school students.
Learn the time-honored tradition of oil painting in an encouraging and supportive atmosphere. Explore color, value, paint application, design and composition in this most forgiving medium. We will also look at the work of other artists for inspiration and techniques in art-making.
All levels are welcome, whether you are just starting out, continuing, or returning to oil paints.

John received a Fine Arts degree in painting from Indiana University and also studied at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design and the University of Minnesota Split Rock Arts Program. He has painted in England, Scotland, Mexico and Canada as well as the United States, with many trips to the North Shore of Lake Superior. Represented by Frameworks Gallery in St. Paul, John has also created cover art for two books by a local author.John Caron has lived in Hopkins for more than 25 years. He has been a member of Hopkins Center for the Arts since its inception and served many years on its Visual Arts Advisory Committee. These paintings were created by students in his Oil Painting class and were on display at the ArtHop exhibit at Hopkins Center for the Arts, which is an annual exhibit featuring the diverse range of art created by Hopkins Community Education Adult Enrichment students and instructors.
