Machine Sewing—Beginner Projects

Want to learn to use a sewing machine? This class is for you. We’ll learn the parts of a sewing machine and how to use it, then do some practice sewing on scraps . Then we’ll make our first project: an envelope pillow cover for a throw pillow. After that we’ll design and sew a scrappy zipper pouch. All materials provided. 

Additional $12 supply fee to be paid to the instructor at the start of class.

Carrie Mercer has been sewing for 20+ years and has been volunteering with the American Sewing Guild for 10 years. She loves sewing things for her friends and family, such as quilts, tote bags and zipper pouches. Carrie also loves hand sewing (slow-stitching), embroidery, cross stitch, knitting and crochet.
