Making & Using Junk Journals

Adult / Art -
Adult W/S 2026

Turn your overflowing paper collection into chunky, fun-to-work-in books! We will first spend time painting and stamping on paper to make some unique pages for our books. Next, we’ll collect our papers and bind them together using repurposed cardboard food boxes, kraft envelopes or old books for the covers. Finally, we’ll spend time learning fun, playful and relaxing ways to work in our junk journals. These books are not meant to be perfect but instead will become a visual cornucopia of inspiration beckoning you to play in them with creative abandon.

Week 1 – Creating painted and stamped pages
Week 2 – Binding our books
Week 3 – Playful and curious collage
Week 4 – Adding layers with paint and doodles

Molly Anthony

Molly Anthony is a writer and mixed-media artist from Minneapolis, MN. She loves exploring art in all forms and sharing her ideas with others, but through the pandemic and family struggles she learned the importance of using those practices for self-care. In her work and her teachings, she strives to embrace imperfection, focuses on process over product and is constantly looking for new ways to be curious about the world around her, especially while on walks with her dog. She teaches locally in the Twin Cities and is also the co-facilitator for the MN Visual Journal Collective. You can find her artwork on Instagram at @mkranthony and on her website TheFoundArtWalk.com.
