Neurographic Art is a free-flowing, organic artform that creates a calm, focused and mindful experience in our bodies and brains while crafting a beautiful and inspiring piece of abstract artwork on the page. The process allows us to slip into a meditative state and asks us let go of the idea of perfection while encouraging us to focus on the act of creating instead worrying about final piece of artwork. This class is intended to be a slow, immersive experience which provides the opportunity to press pause on stressors and spend time focusing on your own needs and well-being. We’ll begin by learning the history of neurographic art and then spend time practicing the techniques and learning ways to apply them in a variety of ways to our own lives and art practices. Please bring the following supplies to class (some extra supplies will be available for class use):• A sketchbook or pad of watercolor paper• A black pen or marker (preferably waterproof)• Something to add color (colored pencils, markers or watercolors)
