Youth Winter/Spring 2026

Chinese dance includes three categories: classical, folk and contemporary. Each session, we take turns to learn from each category alone with flexibility and Chinese dance techniques such as jumping, turning and tumbling.

This class will be taught in Chinese.

Dancers should bring dance shoes either purchased online or from the instructor for $10/pair.

Ying Li

Ms. Li Ying cultivated a passion for dance from a young age and with distinction, earned a bachelor’s degree from the Dance Department of the Shenyang Conservatory of Music. Over the subsequent two decades, she has been passionately engaged in the realms of dance composition, education, and performance. In 2019, she established the Phoenix Chinese Dance Academy in Minnesota, where she stands out as a remarkable educator, demonstrating comprehensive abilities, and striving for excellence. Her leadership has spearheaded the rapid growth of the school. The grand performances she directed such as "Dancing Through Time," "Poetry in the Seasons," and "Between Water and Clouds" have earned extensive praise. Dance pieces she has created, including "The Zeal of Youth" and "Grandma's Words," enjoy widespread popularity. Her students have frequently attained top honors in national and international dance competitions.
