Hand Sewing--Basic Mending

Adult Fall 2024

For absolute beginners! Learn how to work with a needle and thread. You’ll attach a button, patch a hole, and repair a rip. You’ll learn several useful stitches. All materials provided. Students will go home with a packet of needles, a some thread, and several pieces of mended fabric to refer back to. 

Additional $5 supply fee to instructor at the start of class.

Carrie Mercer


Carrie Mercer has been sewing for 20 years and has been involved with the American Sewing Guild for 10 years.  She loves sewing small things, such as tote bags and zippy pockets. Carrie has been very involved in hand sewing (slow-stitching) for the last few years, exchanging artsy creations with sewists from across the world.
