Thursday August 7th, 2025 (7:30AM - 5:30PM) 7:30-7:50 a.m. registered participants arrive to load the bus 8:00 a.m. Bus leaves from the Eisenhower Community Center, 1001 Hwy. 7, Hopkins, MN. 9:45 a.m. Arrive at the Plummer House and take time to use the facilities. 10:00 a.m. Tour the Plummer House. After an introduction by staff, view the house at your own pace. Staff will be posted throughout the site to answer questions. The Plummer House is an English Tudor Mansion and the former home of Henry S. Plummer, who was a member of the Mayo Clinic Staff starting in 1901. The house is 5 stories high, contains 49 rooms, and occupies 11 acres which include beautiful gardens and a water tower. The first floor of the house is handicap accessible. All remaining floors are not handicap accessible. The house includes many innovations that were quite novel for their time. Guests will have time to walk through the gardens and grounds. 11:30 a.m. Leave the Plummber House. 11:45 a.m. Arrive at Victoria's Ristorante in downtown Rochester, featuring made-from-scratch dishes in a lovely atmosphere. Have lunch in the dining room. Menu: Choose at sign up: 1.) Baked Mostaccioli - Pasta baked with ricotta cheese, meat sauce, topped with mozzarella. 2.) Walleye Sandwich - Fresh Canadian Walleye, breaded and deep-fried, served on special bread with Thousand Island dressing, onions, lettuce & tomatoes. 3) Chicken Honey Mustard Salad - Grilled Chicken, red and green leaf lettuce, feta Cheese, Roasted Sun Dried Tomatoes in Olive Oil, Red Onions, Red Peppers & Scallions with honey mustard dressing. Beverage. 1:15 p.m. After lunch, meet your Rochester Step On Guide. On this riding tour you will hear the inside story of Rochester's amazing growth and transformation from a humble Midwestern farm town to a world-famous mecca for the medical arts. Embark on a captivating journey through time. Delve into the rich tapestry of Rochester's past as we uncover tales of resilience, innovation, and community spirit. [Note: Only patients at Mayo Clinic and their families can arrange for a tour.
