In this class Kirsten will demonstrate a variety of recipes using in-season local and/or commonly available vegetables including Lemon Pepper Broccoli, Miso Sesame Kale Chips, and Roasted Sweet Potatoes.   • Beginning Sewing

    This is for those who have little or no experience at a sewing machine. We begin with learning the parts of the sewing machine and then practice sewing straight and curved lines. We will learn about choosing fabric and patterns. In Session 1 (2 hours) we will make a pillow case. Students will be required to provide fabric and a designated pattern for Session 2 (3 hours). In Session 2, we will learn about using patterns and will cut out the fabric and construct a pair of leisure pants. Students are then on their way to sewing fashions and accessories of their own creation.
  • Bicycle Repair and Maintenance 2 Hour Class

    Basic bike set up, identification, shifting adjustments, brake adjustments, how to safety check your bike, preparing a bike for selling, as well as many other helpful tips & tricks. Time will be available to fix many of the mechanical issues you are facing. Bringing in a bike is encouraged. Please bring a bike. Great value if you factor in a basic tune up!! Class is open for ages 16+ Each class goes through a checklist of learning. Once a level is completed the learner moves on to the next level and corresponding checklist. Complete levels and earn equipment that will help you with potential bicycle issues.

    This 3hr class will build from basic to more advance. Many of your bike issues can be solved in this class! Major focus will be on identification of bicycle parts, trailside repair, shifting adjustments, brake adjustments, chain maintenance, how to repair/replace a tube (flat tire), how to safety check your bike. We will also learn basic wheel truing, replacing a chain, how to replace brake and shifting cables. Please bring a bike. Especially one that need work! Great value if you factor in a tune up!!     Comedy Writing: How to Be Funny on Paper and Stage

    Whether you need to make a dull work presentation more lively, mix laughter with learning in the classroom, or ultimately want to write for print/production or perform your own stand up routine, this fast-paced session will show you how to apply humor to all aspects of your life. You will learn the anatomy a joke, how to use your powers of observation to sharpen your wit, write different types of jokes, and use humor to entertain and influence people.   • Crepes: The “Do-Ahead” Wrap

    Crepes are an easy, impressive do-ahead dish. We will prepare Chicken Divan (chicken with broccoli in a cheese a cheese sauce) for our main dish. Follow it with Cheese Blintzes served with an apricot sauce, and Mushroom Crepes with Sherry Sauce. Orange Crepe Suzette, Italian and Sicilian Cannoli, Flaming Crepes and other desserts will round out our selections. And… each student will have lots of experience in “making perfect crepes,” including flipping them!

Participants will learn how fun and easy fantasy football can be.

The general intention of a Sound Bath is to create a harmonious state in the participant as the sound clears and balances the human energy field. They can be a profound experience, and are excellent for opening the heart space. Most people describe the experience as cleansing or clearing, and very relaxing. During a Sound Bath, participants typically lie on a yoga mat, however, we always have chairs available for anyone who isn’t at ease laying on a yoga mat for the duration of the event.

    You'll begin by preparing vietnamese summer rolls served with both hoisin and peanut sauce for dipping. Vietnamese spring rolls follow made with pork, chicken, and glass noodles stuffed in rice paper, fried crispy, and served with the classic nuoc cham for dipping. You'll then prepare Pad Thai blending the vibrant flavors of Thailand with rice noodles using chicken, eggs, chilies, garlic, basil, scallions, bean sprouts, sesame oil, lemon and crushed red pepper flakes. For dessert, refreshing Thai lime custard topped with fresh whipped cream.

  • The Art of Sushi

    Come explore the world of sushi as you create this Japanese delicacy yourself. We'll begin by preparing the coveted sushi rice then you'll learn the art of "nigiri-sushi"(hand molded rice) topped with shrimp, unagi, tamago, ahi tuna, and more. You'll then learn how to prepare "maki-sushi" using a bamboo mat to roll rice with various fillings in and around Nori (seaweed sheets). Options and accompaniments will include surimi, cucumber, avocado, cream cheese, teriyaki chicken, tempura onions, spicy mayo, eel sauce, wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce.
