You’ll never have to worry about freezing up in front of a camera, all thanks to the helpful skills you’ll be taking with you once your class is complete. We’ll walk you through a step-by-step process so that you can get started today!

    Learn how to create a professional looking photo album or a slide show for that upcoming graduation or birthday party or memorial. Learn to organize your photos and crop and edit them as well as make collages of photo groups. Then learn how to add music and animations to the slide show.
  • Crepes: The “Do-Ahead” Wrap

    Crepes are an easy, impressive do-ahead dish. We will prepare Chicken Divan (chicken with broccoli in a cheese a cheese sauce) for our main dish. Follow it with Cheese Blintzes served with an apricot sauce, and Mushroom Crepes with Sherry Sauce. Orange Crepe Suzette, Italian and Sicilian Cannoli, Flaming Crepes and other desserts will round out our selections. And… each student will have lots of experience in “making perfect crepes,” including flipping them!
  • Cricut for Beginners

    Have a Cricut machine but not sure how it works? Come learn the essential functions of this popular cutting tool. Leave class with a simple paper and vinyl project as well as the basic knowledge to start creating custom, professional-looking paper crafts embellished apparel, home décor, and more. $10 supply fee paid to instructor.   • Dance Team Prep

    Are you hoping to represent Hopkins on the dance team someday? We will learn skills and dances in the 3 dance team styles performed at Hopkins, Jazz, Kick and Hip Hop. You’ll work with Ms. Karla, one of the fall dance team coaches, to learn what you’ll need to succeed as a Hopkins Dance Team member. Wear form fitting clothes, any style jazz shoes and put long hair up in a secure ponytail, braid or bun.

    "Every child is an artist!" - Pablo Picasso Campers will create art each day through painting, collage, photography, and more to display in their very own art exhibit. We invite families to join us and explore the gallery at the end of the week.
  • De-Age Your Brain

    Current research shows lifestyle and diet have a big effect on HOW the brain ages. Cognitive function, which covers all aspects of perceiving, thinking and reasoning, CAN improve. And the very good news is no matter what your age there are things you can begin to do today to improve how quickly and effectively brain cells communicate with each other. We’ll discuss which ‘superfoods’ reduce the damaging effects of toxins and inflammation on the brain and which nutrients are great for memory, attention, processing information and reducing stress. You will learn simple, easy to implement strategies to help your brain stay healthy and alert.
  • Dino Discovery

    Tyrannosaurs Rex, Triceratops and Diplodocus . . . is your child dazzled by dinosaurs? Come have a playdate with a dino and create a fantastic work of dinosaur art. Your young artists will create their own diorama complete with a toy dinosaur! Come and create right along with your child. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver.

    Get ready to take an amazing adventure into the exciting world of magic. Learn how to teleport objects across the room, find hidden magical treasures, and levitate a cup of popcorn just to name a few. In this course, students will not only learn the three parts that make up a magic trick with a special focus on presentation, but more importantly they will discover the real secrets to becoming a true magician as each lesson reveals an important life skill to help build their confidence and communication skills.

    Have you ever wished drawing was easy? Well in this class, it couldn’t be easier! For each drawing project, students will learn a simple step-by-step method as they draw well-dressed llamas, cute kittens, adorable pandas, and more. Drawing is easy, fun, and anyone can do it- and this class proves it! Hopkins Community Education is excited to provide a pick your price payment option for before and after school programming.   • Drone Maker Engineering Camp

    The Drone Maker Engineering Camp is an engaging, hands-on experience that combines theory with practical application. Designed for beginners, students will work in teams of 3 and use special classroom drones to learn about drones, the principles of flight, and their real world applications. Each day, students will engineer their drones to complete a new mission like package delivery, fire fighting and medical missions. This camp is structured to encourage creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

    Get your adrenaline running this summer with this super exciting camp. Are you intrigued by drones? Would you like to learn more about this amazing technology? What about learning to fly them and particiapte in arial races? Learn the science behind flight? Then this is the camp for you! Not only will your race drones against your friends, you will also learn about model rocketry and pickup how to launch rockets up to 300 feet and more up into "space"! The camp also includes a "swarm" of fun STEAM projects.
  • ECFE 100 AM Sessions Infant Class

    What an exciting adventure you are on as a caregiver for a baby! It takes a village to support your family during the infant years and beyond. This class will provide you with parenting education from a Licensed Parenting Educator along with the shared experiences of other caregivers who are transitioning to parenthood, navigating sleep, feeding, caring for themselves and their families, relationships, and more. The class will include time to play and interact with your baby, information on newborn development and parenting topics, along with an interactive circle time with songs, stories, and movement. Expecting parents are welcome and new arrivals are always encouraged to register throughout the year. We understand that babies cry, and sometimes during class, they may be sleepy or need to eat. This class is "come as you are" and we embrace this as being a welcoming place to experience the realities of parenting. NOTE: Sibling Care is offered, with limited spots available - Sibling Care is for ages 6 months - 5.5 years at Harley Hopkins. Listen to all the giggles as you and your toddler enjoy creative activities, sing songs, play with toys, explore new art forms, and more! ECFE class components include caregiver/child interaction time, a caregiver discussion, engaging learning activities for children, and an interactive circle for you and your child to take part in together! These classes will be gradually separating for the caregiver discussion. NOTE: Sibling Care is offered, with limited spots available - Sibling Care is for ages 6 months - 5.5 years at Harley Hopkins.     Stay and Play - Drop In ECFE Class These individual drop-in days allow you to choose what days work in your schedule. Sign up for some or all!! Take a break from your day to day routine to come play and learn together with your child in our beautiful classrooms. Your child will have the opportunity to create art, sing, play, and explore new activities guided by a licensed Children's Teacher or Parent Educator. ECFE Stay and Play class components include parent/child interaction time in the classroom, opportunities to play in our motor room, outside, or gym, an interactive circle for children and caregivers to take part in, and a place to share in the joys and concerns of parenting. Sibling care is not offered for Stay & Plays.

  • ECFE Preschool Readiness

    Our Preschool Readiness class is two days a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am -11:30am. On Tuesdays, caregivers and children will attend together. Class will include all the typical ECFE components: parent/child interaction time, a parenting discussion, engaging learning activities for children, and an interactive circle for you to take part in together! This class provides a supportive separating experience for you and your child. On Thursdays, children will be dropped off and have time to practice preschool routines independently. Caregivers will have an asynchronous parenting education opportunity. This may include a podcast, book, article, and/or other relevant information to enrich our weekly parenting discussions.
