African American History
This class will provide students with additional information about the history of African Americans that may not be included in the regular Hopkins curriculum. There will be videos, songs, role playing, poetry and stories. Students will learn about literary concepts such as comparing/contrasting and sequencing. Several AVID components will be included in the instruction. We will also finish camp by preparing a traditional dish.

Developing the minds of young people is my passion. Greetings, my name is Jessica Winnie. This is my sixth year working in the Hopkins. I enjoy teaching math and writing. Being a parent and teacher in the district gives me an added advantage on creating positive experiences for all students.
