ASHI Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Class

Youth Fall 2021
Learn the responsibilities of being a prepared, safe, responsible and professional babysitter. Topics include supervision, behavior guidance, child development, proper feeding and diapering techniques, personal safety, medical emergencies, basic first aid care and fire safety. This class is developed by the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) and is approved by the American Pediatrics Association. Class participants receive a manual and ASHI certification card.
Amy Timm has enjoyed teaching children, teens, and adults for over 30 years. She has a Master’s Degree in education and a teaching license in Parent and Family Education. She’s a certified instructor, through the American Safety & Health Institute, teaching the Child and Babysitting Safety class for young teens. She’s also a Master Trainer with the Child Care Aware, teaching professional development classes for child care workers in topic areas of social and emotional development, behavior management, autism spectrum, early literacy, and infant-child safety. Her career as a teacher has given her a depth of experience enriched by a deep love for children and families.
